I got contacted by Bik Bok earlier this year, in February while I was in New York exactly. I remember reading the e-mail first time in my hotel room, and feeling so excited that I could just jump up and down and scream! Still I was afraid to get too happy about it too early, it seemed so unreal. Even more unreal cause I remembered the previous collection with Whitney Port.
I was also really happy about the news that Bik Bok would open stores in Finland, I’ve been waiting for that to happen. It was so hard to keep quiet about all of this!

Minuun otettiin Bik Bokilta yhteyttä tämän vuoden alussa, tarkemmin sanottuna helmikuussa New Yorkissa ollessani. Muistan vieläkin sen epäuskoisen fiiliksen, kun luin sieltä tulleen meilin ensimmäisen kerran, olisi tehny mieli pomppia kattoon ja kiljua! Koitin kuitenkin hillitä itseäni, etten innostuisi liian aikaisessa vaiheessa liikaa. Vaikea sitä oli kyllä olla miettimättä, en voisi parempaa unelmatilaisuutta kuvitella, kuin oma vaatemallisto.
Lisäsi epäuskoisuutta sekin, kun muistin Bik Bokin viime yhteistyömalliston olleen Whitney Portin kanssa. Olin iloinen tietysti myös Bik Bokin rantautumisesta Suomeen!

For the first meeting when everything was still open I flew to Oslo to the head office of Bik Bok, and also visited the stores. It was important that I fitted for Bik Bok, and Bik Bok fitted for me. We were quite perfect match I think!

Lensin ensitapaamista varten Osloon Bik Bokin pääkonttorille, ja vierailin myös heidän myymälöissä. Oli tärkeää, että olin oikea tyyppi heille, ja että Bik Bok tuntuisi omalta jutulta minulle.

We planned how the collection would look like: clothes or accessories, party clothes or just casual… I wanted to do everything! I knew from the beginning that I didn’t want the collection to be too over the top or look like I’ve tried too hard to create something new. I wanted it to fit my style, classic clothes with some kind of an edge. Do the kind of perfect pieces that I would buy myself.

Suunniteltiin millainen mallistosta tulisi: asusteita vai vaatteita, arkeen vai juhlaan, ym… Halusin tehdä kaikkea! Tiesin heti alusta, etten halunnut suunnitella mitään överioutoja vaatteita. Oma tyylini on kuitenkin sen verran klassinen, ettei olisi tuntunut oikealta suunnitella vain sillä tavoitteella että tekisin jotain ennennäkemätöntä. Halusin tehdä sellaisia vaatteita, jotka itse ostaisin jos näkisin kaupassa, sellaisia mitä olen tähän asti jo etsinyt. Klassisia vaatteita, joista löytyy särmää.

I probably have to visit Oslo again just as a tourist, from the little of what I saw, it looked like a beautiful city. The Opera house, looks so cool!

Täytyy käydä Oslossa varmaan vielä ihan turistina, siitä vähästä mitä näin niin vaikutti ihanalta kaupungilta. Oopperatalo näytti niin siistiltä!

In the second meeting I had brought a big collection of inspiration pictures with me, and some color and material ideas. When I got back home I started drawing the clothes, the schedule was really busy and I literally drew them all day and night. I added there the color, material and detail wishes and sent the sketches to Oslo.

Toisessa tapaamisessa minulla oli mukana leikekirja, johon olin kerännyt inspiraatiokuvia, kiinnostavia värejä ja materiaaleja ja muita ideoita. Mietittiin sen pohjalta lisää, mihin suuntaan lähdettäisiin. Kun palasin kotiin en seuraavana parina päivänä muuta tehnyt kuin piirsin, sen verran kiireisellä aikataululla mentiin. Lähetin piirtämäni luonnokset vaatteista sitten Osloon toimistolle, materiaali-, väri- ja yksityiskohtatietojen kera.

Then after a few months the samples had arrived, and I flew to Oslo again for the fitting. We made some corrections to the clothes, and sent them back to the factory, so that they could make the final ones.

Parin kuukauden päästä siitä olivat mallikappaleet viimein saapuneet toimistolle, ja oli aika lentää Osloon sovitusta varten. Tehtiin vaatteisiin korjailut, ja lähetettiin ne takaisin tehtaalle.

Next thing in the process was the photoshoot. I got to Oslo late in the evening, slept my beauty sleep in a hotel, and next morning (6.30) the makeup artist came to my hotel room to do my hair and makeup. Then we headed for the first location!

Seuraava juttu prosessissa oli kuvaus. Saavuin Osloon myöhään illalla, ja seuraavana aamuna tuli meikkaaja hotellilleni laittamaan hiukset ja meikin, ja suunnattiin ekaan kuvauspaikkaan.

We started shooting in a nice cafeteria, and the “changing room” was made there downstairs. I chose the outfits for the shoot with the help of Bik Bok’s stylist Maria. I loved her style, we really had the same idea of how to wear the pieces.

Aloitettiin kuvaukset ihanan tunnelmallisessa kahvilassa, jonka alakertaan oltiin raivattu henkilökuntatiloihin tilaa vaaterekille, meikkipisteelle ja muulle tarvittavalle kamalle. Valittiin siellä asut Bik Bokin stailistin Marian kanssa. Oltiin onneksi ihan samaa mieltä, mitä pukea minkäkin kanssa.

I had a fantastic team there: the photographer and his assistant, make up artist, stylist, and other helpful people from Bik Bok.

Tiimi oli muutenkin aivan mahtava: kuvaaja, kuvaajan assari, meikkaaja, stailisti ja muita avuliaita tyyppejä Bik Bokilta.

We continued the shooting outside. It was really cold, almost minus degrees! It was a good choice to dresses inside and warmer clothes outside..

Jatkettiin kuvauksia iltapäivästä ulkona. Oli melkein pakkasta, eli onneksi mekkoja oltiin jo kuvattu sisällä niin tähän valkattiin neuleita ja lämpimämpiä vaatteita.

I had so much fun through out the whole process! It’s sad to think that it’s over, but well, I got pretty good memory out of this all, besides all of this. Yes, the clothes! I love them!!! And you’ll see a whole lot of them, I promise ;)

Lastly: Thank you Bik Bok ♥ This is something I’ll be remembering for the rest of my life!

Tätä oli niin mielettömän hauskaa tehdä. Surullista ajatella, että nytkö se on ohi. Mutta no, aika hyvä muisto tästä jää, kaikkien näiden lisäksi. Nimittäin ne vaatteet! Aiiijai<3 Tulette näkemään niitä vielä paljon, lupaan!

    Eikö noita vaatteita toimiteta mitenkään neti kautta? ): Harmittaa kun Bik Bok ei oo kauheen lähel omaa asuinpaikkaa jote ostamine on vähän hankalaa :( Ja onko noit vaattei paljonki myytävänä ettei lopu ihan heti?

Lahjakkuuta, inspiraatiota, oikeaa asennetta, kykyä erottua muista. Tämä on kokonaan SUN ansiotasi -toivottavasti sen ymmärtävät kaikki muutkin. Mutta pääasia on, että sä tiedät sen.         Oli vaan pakko sanoa sulle noi asiat, kun tuntuu, että jotkut nimeltämainitsemattomat ottavat elämäntehtäväkseen lannistaa muita, esim. juurikin, kun puhutaan bloggaajien tekemistä yhteistyömallistoista tai ylipäätänsä suosituista bloggaajista.     Toivottavasti kommenttini ei huku näiden kymmenien muiden sekaan – en oikeen tiedä kuinka aktiivisesti vastaat kysymyksiin myöskään – mutta ihan mielenkiinnosta ja ehkä vähän viimeaikaisten uutisten valossa, saitko vierailevana suunnittelijana yhtään informaatiota siitä miten missä jne vaatteet valmistetaan, tai oliko sinulla yhtään vaikutusvaltaa asiaan?

    Toivottavasti saat samanlaisia mahdollisuuksia vielä tulevaisuudessa :))

      Bik Bokilla on tietyt vakkaritehtaat parissa eri maassa, joilla vaatteet valmistetaan, niihin en itse vaikuttanut. :)

    I just wanna tell you that I have read your blog for a while and your style is amazing. I don’t like many bloggers because of one reason. They can perfectly match pieces of clothes but I don’t think all outfits they make completes themselves. Everytime I see your outfits I have great feeling that every single piece completes you as a young beautiful ambicious free girl. You just look so natural in your outfits.
