memories of 2012

Doing this summary of last year I felt like re-living the year. I also realized, how amazing 2012 was and how grateful I am about it. Though life is always ups and downs, these things I’m remembering here are only some of the ups. Just some random nice things of my year. :) I can only wish 2013 would be as great as 2012, or even better. At least I’ll do everything for it!

Tätä vuoden summaamista tekiessä tuntui kuin olisi pikakelauksella elänyt vuoden tapahtumia uudestaan. Tajusin, miten paljon mahtavia juttuja vuodessa ehti tapahtua, ja miten kiitollinen niistä kaikista olen. Vaikka mahtuu toki elämään aina ylä- ja alamäkiä, niin tähän halusin kerätä niitä kivoja juttuja. Voin vain toivoa, että 2013 olisi yhtä ihana, kuin 2012. Tai jopa vielä ihanampi. No, ainakin aion tehdä itse kaikkeni sen eteen!

january

  • had a lovely one-week vacation in Spain with my family
  • heard that I had won the NY-fashion week competition and was the happiest girl alive
  • I was addicted to many tv-shows (e.g. PLL)
  • vietin viikon lämpimässä perheeni kanssa lomaillen
  • olin koukuttunut tv-sarjoihin
  • kuulin voittaneeni Nycin muotiviikkokisan ja olin onnesta sekaisin!

february

  • went to New York fashion week, a hectic but wonderful week. I’ve been dreaming about going back ever since…
  • got contacted by Bik Bok and was about to start the greatest project of the year, had a hard time keeping quiet about it for so long
  • menin sinne Nycin muotiviikoille kaverini kanssa, ja elin yhden kiireisimmistä mutta kivoimmista viikoista
  • sain yhteydenoton Bik Bokilta, ja vuoden isoin projektini lähti käyntiin, josta olikin vaikea pitää suuni kiinni melkeinpä koko pitkän vuoden ajan!

march

  • spent an amazing but crazy weekend in Stockholm, some blog “workshops”, partying and meeting new people
  • went one weekend skiing and relaxing in the middle of nowhere
  • won in the Aussie blog awards in the category “Readers’ choice”, and was so touched. Feels still so heart-warming!
  • vietin elämäni hulluimman viikonlopun Tukholmassa. Hulluutta vaikeaa lyhyesti tiivistää, mutta yritetään: unettomia öitä ja juhlimista sillan alla (?) underground klubilla, ennustajaeukolla käyminen, venäläisteema-illallinen humppamusiikilla, ruotsalaisten designereiden tapaamista ja muiden maiden bloggaajiin tutustumista, mielenkiintoisia kuvauksia ja hotellissa paikasta toiseen juoksemista, itsensä kehittämistä ja kirjoitustehtäviä
  • tajusin, ettei kaikessa tarvitse olla järkeä
  • lepäilin Himoksella lasketellen, hiihtäen ja lumimaisemista nauttien
  • voitin Aussie-blogigaalassa Lukijoiden suosikki -kategoriassa, ja olin liikuttunut!

april

  • spent the Easter in my old home with my family
  • took my friend with me to Stockholm for a short trip, and visited the Aussie awards in Sweden
  • got addicted to Pinterest
  • olin pääsiäisen vanhassa kodissani ja koko perhe oli pitkästä aikaa koolla
  • kävin Tukholmassa, piipahdin Ruotsin Aussie-awardseissa ja ihailin kirsikkapuita
  • addiktoiduin Pinterestiin

may

  • loved wearing pastel colored arm candy
  • got excited about the warming weathers and dug out my jogging shoes
  • couldn’t wait for summer
  • käytin paljon käsikoru-rykelmiä
  • olin innoissani lämpenevistä ilmoista ja kaivoin lenkkitossut esiin
  • odotin kesää

june

  • visiting London with my mum, it was my first time there
  • bought myself a Macbook Air, probably the best thing I’ve ever bought
  • wore my white blazer a lot
  • had the best midsummer in the city: eating & drinking & chatting, enjoying the quiet and deserted Helsinki
  • vietin viikon Lontoossa äitini kanssa, ensimmäinen kertani siellä ja tykkäsin!
  • ostin Macbook Airin, ehkä paras ostos ikinä
  • vaatekriisien pelastaja oli usein valkoinen bleiserini
  • vietin täydellisen mutta erilaisen juhannuksen: hyvää ruokaa, viiniä, juoruilua ja yö(/aamu)kävelyä autiossa Helsingissä

july

  • spent a week in our summer house in the beautiful surroundings
  • ate a lot of strawberries and ice cream
  • whitened my teeth and felt like smiling
  • hanged out with my friends and liked going out to outdoor bars (summer is the time when I feel like going out!)
  • loved crochet dresses, tanned skin and sandals
  • olin viikon Pyhäjoella kesämökillämme
  • söin mansikoita ja jätskiä
  • valkaisin hampaani ja hymyilytti
  • näin kavereitani, käytiin ulkona ja nautittiin terassikeleistä
  • tykkäsin virkatuista mekoista, ruskettuneesta ihosta ja vaaleista vaatteista

august

  • went to Stockholm Fashion Week, busy schedule of fashion shows and parties, met amazing people and had so much fun! Just remembering this brings a big smile on my face… I have Bloggers Wardrobe to thank for this trip
  • the first issue of Costume came out!
  • had a little boat trip in Helsinki with some of my fellow bloggers and handsome captains
  • drank a lot of champagne
  • menin Tukholman muotiviikoille, ja oli yksi elämäni hauskimmista viikoista! Aikatauluuni oltiin kirjattu 24 muotinäytöstä ja 9 juhlaa, eli tekemisen puutetta ei ollut, ja parasta oli että sai näitä kiertää hyvässä seurassa. Tutustuin nimittäin muiden maiden bloggaajiin ja uusiin ihaniin ihmisiin. Bloggaajiin, joiden blogeja olin itse seurannut jo vuosikaudet, enkä olisi ikinä kuvitellut heitä tapaavani!
  • olin samoissa juhlissa Lady Gagan kanssa! (hahah tärkeä muisto)
  • ensimmäinen numero Costumea julkaistiin
  • käytiin veneilemässä Helsingissä bloggaajien kanssa, ja komeiden kapteenien
  • tuli juotua muutama lasi shamppanjaa…

september

  • flew to Stockholm again for the Missoni and Lindex fashion show and launch
  • moved to a new apartment
  • and my blog finally moved to Costume <3
  • was excited of new beginnings and the beautiful autumn
  • lensin taas Tukholmaan Missonin ja Lindexin malliston lanseeraukseen
  • muutin uuteen asuntoon, vanhalla tutulla kotikadullani
  • blogini muutti viimein Costumelle
  • olin innoissani uusista aluista ja mahdollisuuksista, ja kauniista syksystä

october

  • celebrated my 22nd birthday
  • for the first time baked a cheesecake myself, which turned out to be a success! Now it’s my go-to cake for every celebration :D
  • flew to Oslo for the final Bik Bok photoshoot, the time of launching my collection was getting closer and closer
  • juhlittiin 22-v synttäreitäni
  • leivoin elämäni ensimmäisen juustokakun ihan itse! (joka oli menestys, ihme kyllä)
  • lensin Osloon Bik Bokin vaatemallistoni kuvauksiin, lanseeraus vain läheni ja läheni

november

  • celebrated the success of Costume
  • felt like I had finished the decorating in my new home
  • finally got to announce the news about my collection for Bik Bok, which I had worked for through out the year. Then celebrating the launch and wearing my new clothes! At the same time I felt somehow sad that the project was over, but still so happy and excited <3
  • juhlittiin Costumen menestystä
  • sistustin ja viimeistelin vielä suht uuden kotini loppuun
  • sain julkistaa tiedon Bik Bokin vaatemallistostani, jota olin pitkin vuotta tehnyt. Saldona viisi Oslon-reissua, piirreltyjä luonnoksia ja korjailuja, ja viimeisenä lanseerausjuhlat ja vaatteiden näkeminen kaupassa! Vuoden isoin projekti oli ohi, oli haikea mutta onnellinen fiilis

  • went to Paris with my friend for Christmas shopping
  • took a little time out of life, relaxed and had a wonderful Christmas and New Year’s Eve
  • a Christmas miracle happened. I was without Facebook for 3 weeks (!!), there were so many fake profiles made my name and pictures, and they were deleted including my real profile. For some reason even my passport was marked as fake, when I sent a picture of it as a prove. But, on Christmas Eve I got it back, with an apology e-mail!
  • kävin Pariisissa kaverini kanssa joulushoppailemassa
  • otin pienen breikin elämästä, rentouduin ja vietin ihanan joulun ja uuden vuoden aaton
  • olin ilman Facebookkia kolme viikkoa!! Mun nimellä ja kuvilla oltiin tehty niin monta profiilia että kaikki oltiin poistettu, minut mukaan lukien. Ei auttanut sekään että lähetin passistani kuvan sinne todisteeksi, sekin merkattiin feikiksi?! No jouluaattona sain sen takaisin, pahoittelumeilien kera, ihme!

      Thank you so much :) Yes I will continue with the answer posts, I’ve already started doing the part 2!

      I’ve found a couple things from sales, but I haven’t received them yet (online shopping), so I’ll maybe post about these later…

And I’ve got a question: you wear a sequined skirt Zara on one of your photos (with a gray sweater) and I wonder if you do not know any other stores where I could find the same type of skirt cheap, thank you in advance for the reply, kisses from France :)

    Sun vuosi on näyttänyt kertakaikkisen upealta, vaikka ei se kenenkään elämä ole pelkkiä ”kiiltokuvia” ja ruusuilla tanssimista, mitä monesti lukijat tulkitsevat väärin bloggaajista. Oot aivan ihana ja kävin ekaa kertaa Helsingissä BikBokissa ja siellä oli paljon sun lanseeramia kauniita vaatteita :-) ♥

      Niinpä :/ Eka aattelin että ne feikkiprofiilit on suht harmittomia, mutta sitten kun käy tollasta, niin alkaa ärsyttämään ne tuplasti enemmän…

    Hi! I’m from Spain :). in what part of Spain you been? i would like go to Helsinki and other places in the north of Europe, but i’m living in the southern of spain (Andalucía, Cádiz) and this weather is so wonderful!

      Maileja tulee niin hirveästi etten kerkeä kaikkiin vastaamaan, mutta pyrin lukemaan kaikki. Piti ihan ettiä hakusanalla tuolta meileistä, niin vastaan nyt sitten vaikka tässä. En ainakaan tällä hetkellä ole laukkua myymässä, kun se on yksi lemppareista, mutta pidän sut mielessä jos muutan tän suhteen mieleni :)
