One of my favorite dinners at the moment…

Yksi lemppariresepteistäni tällä hetkellä…

Ingredients:

For the chicken: chicken fillets (I prefer thin ones), crisp bread, egg, oil for frying. ( + spices for the chicken if you have it unmarinated, I used salt, pepper and soy sauce)
For the salad: lettuce, tomatoes, red pepper, red onion, feta cheese, avocado, cucumber, carrot, basil, seeds/crushed nuts. (or just your favorite salad ingredients)
For the sauce:  Turkish yoghurt, salt and pepper, dry basil. And extra if you like, sweet chili sauce (which I basically add to every food…)

Ainekset:

Kanaa varten: kanafileitä (ohuet mun suosikkeja, tulee rapeampia), näkkäriä, kananmuna, öljyä paistamiseen. (+mausteita kanaan, mikäli kanassa ei oo entuudestaan mitään marinadia, mä käytin suolaa+pippuria+soijakastiketta)
Salaattiin:  salaattia, tomaattia, kurkkua, paprikaa, punasipulia, basilikaa, fetaa, porkkanaa, avokadoa ja siemensekoitusta.
Kastikkeeseen: turkkilaista jogurttia, suolaa ja pippuria, basilikamaustetta. (Ja extrana jos tykkää niin sweet chili kastiketta, itse syön sitä vähän joka ruoan kanssa)

Step one: Create the salads on the side of the plates, so they are ready there when the chicken is cooked

Vaihe yksi: Kokoa lautasille salaatti, jotta se on siinä valmiina odottamassa kun kana tulee aika nopeasti

Step two: Crush the crisp bread in small pieces on a baking paper

Vaihe kaksi: Murskaa näkkäri leivinpaperin päällä pieneksi muruksi

Step three: Add spices to the chicken, I could have done this earlier to let the marinade affect a little longer (soy sauce/teriyaki sauce and spices), but I was hungry… Then after spices, I crushed one egg to a bowl and mixed it. Then dipped the chicken fillets in the bowl, and then dipped both sides in the crisp bread.

Vaihe kolme: Mausta kanafileet haluamallasi tavalla, voi myös tehdä marinadin vähän aiemmin ja antaa sen maustua jos osaa ennakoida eikä ole yhtä nälkäinen kuin mä olin. Riko kananmuna kulhoon ja sekoita vähän. Sitten dippaa fileet kulhoon, ja sen jälkeen käännä molemmat kanan puolet näkkärimurusten päällä, niin että tulee tasainen kuorrutus

Step four: Fry the chickens in a little bit of olive oil, both sides so that you see it’s fully cooked and golden brown, not raw inside. (Be careful not to move the chickens too roughly so the crisp won’t fall off, but it tastes good even if it partly does, you can just pour the loosen crisp on top of the portion!)

Vaihe neljä: Paista kanat pannulla tilkassa öljyä, molemmilta puolilta niin että tulee kullanruskea pinta, eikä jää kana sisältäkään raa’aksi. (Varo kääntelemästä kanoja liian rajusti, ettei kaikki näkkärimuru irtoa, vähän sitä aina mulla irtoaa mutta sen kaadan aina annoksen päälle lopuksi)

Step four: The sauce! Could have also done earlier, but anyway, this is really simple. Just mix turkish yoghurt with salt, pepper and the dry basil in a bowl. (I had the sweet chili sauce separately with the food, but goes also well in here)

Vaihe neljä: Sitten kastikkeeseen! Jonka olisi voinut tehdä senkin aikaisemmin maustumaan, mutta mä en ikinä osaa ennakoida. Tää on tosi simppeli, kulhossa vain sekoitettuna turkkilainen jogurtti, suolaa, pippuria ja basilikajauhetta. (Sweet chili kastikkeen laitoin erikseen pöytään, joskus sekoitan tänne joukkoon)

Step five: Create some pretty table setting with nice napkins (and wine glasses for coke), and finish the portions with setting the chickens on the plates. Hahah, easy! And finally enjoy, with the turkish yoghurt and some other sauces if you like. Salsa could have worked well too, but as I said, for me sweet chili sauce can’t be beaten.

It was fun to do a recipe post after a long time! How did you like it, and recipe posts in general, yes or no?

Vaihe viisi: Kata kivan näköinen kattaus serveteillä ja mielellään viinilaseilla kokikselle, hahah, ja viimeistele annokset asettamalla kanafileet salaattien viereen. Nauti haluamasi kastikkeiden kanssa, mulla turkkilainen jogurtti + se sweet chili tekee ruokaan kuin ruokaan sen täydellisen viimeisen silauksen!

    Absolutely yes on recipes! Even though I can’t find some of the ingredients, living in a different country, it’s always an inspiration to think about how I could adapt that recipe with ingredients I have/can get.

    I love this idea Marianna! I make lots of salads (very similar to this one) but have never tried frying chicken this way…it sounds SO yummy! I would love to see some more recipe posts like this from you ;)

    Great idea with the recipe post. Since I’ve moved a few months back I wanted to cook a bit more helthy than I used to but that’s not really working for me. I wouldn’t mind seeing more of recipe posts in the future :-).

    I love recipe posts (so yeah, it would be great to see them more often), as I am always on the lookout for healthy food ideas, so thanks for that :)
    I roughly make chicken like this also, only that I use plain unsweetened cornflakes as the crust, but I will try the crisp bread, I always have it in the house anyway.

    I would definitely love to See more recipe posts! Especially the healthy ones because its so difficult to find healthy food, that is easy to make and doesnt make you feel hungry annymore. I really likeforlike it :)

    Oh,I love chicken with sauce and salad. I will do that in the near time, it looks and simple, and so exquisitely. I too love a good filing and decoration.
